Every project is unique. I will work with you to realise your vision and tailor my services to suit. I can be involved in all or part of your project from initiation to completion. An outline of a typical process is below.

Initial ConsultationYour first consultation is free. This is a great time to meet each other and discuss your project visions and aspirations. We can meet in-person at my studio, on your site, or online.

Pre-designI'll arrange a site visit to understand and indentify your site opportunities and the environmental surroundings. I will also begin to understand how you'll live in your new home and environment.

Concept DesignBefore we start, I’ll do a feasibility study to ensure your project’s viability. We’ll explore your brief and aspirations - and perhaps suggest some alternatives you haven’t yet considered.

Preliminary DesignFocusing on your brief, budget, site and vision, I’ll develop the concept design into a preliminary design, considering where value can be added. You’ll then receive some preliminary 3D renderings, scale plans and elevations.

Resource ConsentWhen a Resource Consent is required, I may recommend engaging a professional consultant to assist with writing and lodging the application, while I provide the supporting documentation.

Developed DesignOnce you’ve approved the preliminary design, I’ll begin developed design drawings, material selections, finishes, structural systems and building services that will bring your architectural vision together.

Detailed Design & DocumentationThe approved developed design drawings will be detailed and documented through plans, specifications and addenda for the building consent and building contractors. I'll liaise with any consultants, and review and integrate their work into the detailed design documentation.

ProcurementI’ll manage the tendering and negotiation process and work with you to select a suitable contractor for your project. In this phase, we’ll also discuss the form of construction contract and contract type.

Contract Administration & ObservationThis is when construction begins and your architectural vision comes to life. I'll administer the contract between you and your builder to observe and track construction progress throughout the build - minimising amendments and on-site issues that need to be managed contractually and financially.
